Winter holidays - Packing Checklist

Winter holidays – packing the checklist

The holiday season is not only about summer. The charm of winter atmosphere should be appreciated not only by ski and winter sports fans. Even, a simple weekend skiing or snowboard is an amazing method for regeneration, slowing down and spending time on fresh air. Not only people who we spend time with but also clothes which fill our suitcases or backpacks decide about the success of our winter holidays.

It is not as easy to complete clothing for a trip as it is believed. Typical ski clothes are surely the absolute must-haves during such a trip. But, you need also to remember about taking clothes for other purposes like night outs or lazy mornings. Ski resorts are not only about skiing. They have got also other local show-places and attractions. It's always worth to take a walk, see old local monuments or come by to pubs, bars, restaurants or discos.

Choosing an appropriate styling for a ski slope is not so easy and obvious. The perfect ski outfit should contain three layers. First layer - thermal underwear. It keeps you warm and at the same time wick moisture away. The second layer is a warm sweatshirt or fleece. Third, the last one – high-quality ski trousers and a ski or insulated climbing jacket. Although specialists recommend specialistic ski clothing, if you are an amateur skier, there is no such need. While selecting a ski jacket and trousers you need to pay attention to the used fabrics. The membrane features are especially important. It should be water-repellent and wick moisture away effectively. Think about purchasing a longline jacket because it provides decent thermal protection, even during skiing. Other important features are large pockets, which enable you to hide a mobile phone, a pair of goggles, a skipass and other important stuff.

Although collections of many producers include special padded ski jackets, instead of them you can choose a simple, classic jacket that can be used all year long. Another decent choice is a softshell jacket that doesn't limit movement, is extremely light but at the same time provide water and wind protection. Such a jacket will do amazingly during skiing in nice weather conditions.

Purchasing clothes for the slope means paying attention to the features like comfort and a constant thermal level. Comfortable and safe skiing is important, but does it mean resigning from an amazing look? Hell no! Similar to a casual styling, it can be also juiced up by details. Remember about having a trendy hat and scarf or a shawl. Another important and handy thing is a pair of goggles. They can easily replace a ski sunglasses. They provide you with UV protection and look so beautiful that they can be worn even outside a slope.

So, what to wear after skiing? You have got plenty of opportunities. People who love the smart-casual and elegant style should place a bet on warm woollen men's jumpers in Norwegian pattern. It is the ab-so-lute must-have of every ski styling. Zip jumpers, the ones with a turtle neck or a stand-up collar are a great choice for such an outfit. It is also possible to match up the immortal long sleeve shirt and a v-neck jumper or replace a classic shirt with a checked flannel one.
The winter holiday styling is amazingly complemented with jeans, a long coat, a parka or classic winter jacket and padded boots.

Sport style fans may reach for a jumper, a favourite sweatshirt or hoodie, a cotton longsleeve or the latest bestseller – a men's sporty vest. They look amazing while matched with jeans. The more loose proposition is to decide on slightly-fitted cargos, denim joggers or streetwear baggy trousers. Sporty stylings really don't mean reaching for boots. They can be easily replaced by trendy high-top sneakers with a thick sole. If it comes to outerwear, think about a colourful quilted jacket or a leather bomber jacket.
