What clothes to take for a summer vacation?
Rest, holidays, travelling and relaxing – vacations remind us about many pleasurable things and of course, beautiful and sunny weather. However, it’s hard to avoid stress even during these few ‘problem-free’ days. The first problematic thing is simply packaging our suitcase. On the one hand, it has limited space and on the second hand, we need to find the golden mean between comfort, elegance and the selection of such clothes and accessories that let us feel comfy during holidays.
Although creating a summer look for many occasions takes some time, it doesn’t require taking a bunch of clothes. It’s just worth to place a bet on bright colours, natural fabrics and comfortable but casual designs.
Perfect men’s shirts for holidays
Regardless if you spend holidays in the city or in the seaside resort – you need a comfortable shirt. The best are short-sleeved shirts but long-sleeved ones are also a decent choice. You can always roll its sleeves up. If it comes to colours, place a bet on bright ones. White, sky blue, grey and beige but also pastels like pink, mint or yellow. A perfect summer shirt should be made from cotton, linen or other breathable fabrics. Don’t forget about casual details that provide you with an effortless look. A button-down collar, neat breast pockets or an underlined fastening and other contrasting details – decent choices for summer. Another versatile feature of a shirt is its curved bottom, thanks to which it enables wearing it untucked.
Think about how many shirts you should take. Take as many as long your holidays are. Eventually, take an extra one or two just in case.
What to take instead of a shirt?
A classic shirt is a great choice for holidays, but you can replace it partly with a tank top that is a perfect idea for the beach, a cotton T-shirt or a stylish polo shirt that looks amazing matched with shorts or chino trousers. If it comes to colours, make use of bright and universal shades. Pay attention to the shirts’ cut. The most suitable in summer are loose, comfortable and breathable T-shirts. Way better than well-fitted ones.
Trousers for summer – which pair is the best?
If it comes to perfect men’s trousers for summer, give up on jeans. Instead of them, fill your suitcase with denim shorts and cotton or linen chino shorts. Another decent idea is trying men’s cargo shorts with versatile pockets. Similar to the shirts, the perfect shorts/trousers for summer should be breathable, made from cotton and in bright colour. The beige or grey chinos will be a decent choice. However, you can take a step further and try unique sky blue chinos.
Another summer must-have - swimming trunks. The best are fancy patterned trunks in vivid colours and with extra mesh inside. Perfect choice both for the beach and also irreplaceable during a summer workout.
A suit jacket – an elegant look during holidays
Although a men’s suit jacket is considered as an office garment, it’s still worth to find a place for it in a suitcase. It’ll be useful for a date, an evening walk or a dinner in a restaurant. However, resign from the most formal cuts. Holidays are rather about casual jackets and blazers in sky blue, beige, grey or more vivid colour like red, green or blue. Another important feature is the design. The best choice for summer are cotton or linen jackets without a lining and of course, well-fitted to the body.
Let’s be prepared for colder mornings and evenings. In such situation, place a bet on cotton plain hoodies and sweatshirts. They can also be easily replaced with a jacket, a blazer and a warm cardigan.
Summer accessories
It’s not only about clothes. When you pack a suitcase for holidays, think about accessories. If it comes to shoes, be prepared to have at least a few pairs of them. An absolute must-have are sandals, moccasins and sneakers in bright colours. Don’t forget about sunglasses. The best are legendary Aviators with colourful or dark lenses. Of course, you can also get more sporty models or Wayfarers that fit to every face shape. What about the headgear? Place a bet on cap or an amazing straw hat that will additionally protect your neck and ears from harmful effects of the sun. I think the last element of your summer look should be a versatile summer backpack. The documents, a bottle of water, snacks and other necessary things – pack and carry it easily with your new backpack.
