Unfailing naval style

Unfailing naval style

Some time ago, naval style used to be associated only with summer and the holiday season. However, currently this trend is on all year long. In spring and summer, it surprises with freshness and elegance, in autumn and winter brings back good memories. The top fashion designers use this style with extreme pleasure. Follow this example and create an original look by yourself.

The naval style is strongly characterized by the colouristic trio: white-navy blue-red. The typical elements are stripes and summer overprints with an anchor theme. In stylings you reach for specific cuts. Most often for trendy men's shirts, T-shirts, polo shirts, light jumpers, longsleeves, chino trousers and men's textile shorts.

Classic marine outfit

The most basic version has to be comfortable and stylish. The perfect naval styling should fit into the term 'sporty elegance'. For example, shorts, a light polo shirt and sailor shoes are a great proposition. Although polo shirts are available in a full colour palette, when you want to create such an outfit, you should bet on subtle colours like white, grey or sky blue. Don't hesitate to decide on more expressive red or navy blue models. You also won't regret putting on a noticeable light striped polo shirt – navy blue or red.

A typical naval T-shirt can be easily replaced with a shirt. The most suitable will be of course casual men's shirts with a button down collar or a short sleeve model. Don't forget about the striped ones. Regardless of their colour and pattern, you should focus on details making them nonchalant. It's good to loosen up the collar a little bit. The sleeves can be also rolled up to the elbows.

Now, let's talk about trousers. Choose textile shorts in bright colours. However, you shouldn't wear them to work, instead put on comfy and light cotton chinos. In this situation, it's also good to go with white, grey, sky blue or navy blue.

If you want to dress up a bit less formally, choose naval denim shorts and a holidayprinted T-shirt. Especially the big, expressive ones with a flag, boat or anchor theme make a fine impression.

Sailor outfit for colder days

You don't have to resign from sailor clothes on colder days. To preserve the summer look, it's best to smuggle naval prints, stripes in navy blue, white and red to your stylings. A good base for this is a pair of chino trousers or classic men's jeans. What's more? An original longsleeve with an anchor, a sweatshirt, a blazer and an original vest with red details.

To such sets you can also try out to add a long sleeve printed polo shirt. More, you won't be disappointed with light men's jumpers with horizontal stripes. They look outstanding when matched with jeans, chino trousers and even the most popular bombers.

The power of accessories

It's good to have in mind that the summer humour can be taken from the outfits full of sailor elements. Sometimes it's enough to bet on eye-catching details that immediately give your stylings an easy-going image. It can be e.g. a watch with a navy blue face and with a white and red strap. Another element which can successfully play this role is a navy blue striped jumper tied on the shoulders. Going further, let's name other details: a backpack in summer colours, moccasins or sailor shoes in a smart-casual styling with chino, a shirt and a blazer.
